Lewis Controls latest generation optimizer, the ReadysScan SL, is based on the Pentium® processor, Windows® Operating System and our own proven ReadyScan Carriage Optimizer. Along with a Lewis Controls produced Allen Bradley Setworks Cabinet, Readyscan SL is designed to increase production and maximize recovery. The system can be installed on existing mill equipment, such as, but not limited to, End Doggers, Sharp Chains, C-Frames and Canters.

Incorporating the Dynavision L4 laser scanner, the optimizer is able to gather data from two sides. The data is merged together to offer a near complete cross section of the log. All this data is then combined together to create a three dimensional log model. Depending on the machine, the optimizer is capable of calculating a smart rotation and/or a smart taper for the log. These features determines the orientation for the best cutting solution.

Easy to use Windows® menus allows you to control the product mix sawn, on your small log processing equipment. Whether it is by opening faces or dimensional boards and cants, the ReadyScan SL has the flexibility to optimize for the mills needs.

Our log simulation package, is capable of simulating optimization either by single logs or in log batches. The user may modify the values in the ReadyScan SL, and re-optimize the log to observe the changes in the soluiton. This can also be performed on a whole batch of logs that has been saved to disk. These features allow the mill to study the outcome of the solutions with parameter changes.

Our Performance Report Package, in database format, gives management the tools to review the mill's performance today, as well as over specific time periods in the past. Included in these reports are log statistics, downtime, and machine performance.

Maintenance and troubleshooting are always a concern. That's why we incorporate easy to use troubleshooting tools with all of our ReadyScan SL systems. These include our online manual, straight forward troubleshooting screens, knowledgeable 24/7 phone support, and modem access to Lewis Controls.
